It’s official: Doctors are getting paid 2 percent less to treat Medicare patients than they were yesterday.
The change is a result of federal sequestration cuts – broad across-the-board spending cuts put into place in hopes they would persuade Congress to find cuts elsewhere.
Congress failed to take action last month when it approved a bill that would provide funds to keep government running through September. It prevented a government shut down but did nothing to address sequestration.
