Washington State University has taken a major step toward opening a medical school in Spokane, a pursuit that has officials at the University of Washington on edge.
WSU used private funds to commission a $250,000 feasibility study to research whether it’s realistic to open a medical school at the university’s Spokane campus.
“We believe more Washingtonians should have the opportunity of studying at a state-supported medical school,” said Elson Floyd, president of WSU.
