After almost losing its funding, the Life Sciences Discovery Fund is making $1.25 million in grants to help promising concepts in biotechnology make the leap to becoming commercially viable.
The state Legislature passed a bill that would have defunded the LSDF, effectively ending its short tenure as a source of startup capital for new ideas in the life sciences industries. Gov. Jay Inslee vetoed the bill, preserving the LSDF.
