So far, hospitals and doctors have been able to respond to the increase in demand created by the Affordable Care Act in the Puget Sound Region over the past seven months, The Seattle Times reports.
Despite a 10 percent increase in primary-care visits, Providence Health & Services and Swedish Medical Center clinics told the Times that patients were typically waiting no more than five days for appointments, while specialty and urgent-care services were being provided on a same-day basis.
