In her first public statements since being put on leave, a whistleblower judge argued it is critical for those in her position — deciding cases filed against state agencies — to be allowed to make decisions independent of the agencies’ leaders.
"It would be a travesty to allow Washington's administrative justice system to operate in a manner which denies appellants their right to due process,” Patricia Petersen said Monday in testimony before the state Senate Law and Justice Committee.
