Staff and union representatives had repeatedly raised concerns about staffing levels at a Providence Health & Services rehabilitation facility in Lacey, where a patient died in March.
“Part of the reasoning for the union to be established was the fact that we needed staffing levels that were appropriate,” said Dan Fischer, a chemical dependency counselor at the rehab facility and member of SEIU (Service Employees International Union) local 1199.
