Gov. Jay Inslee vetoed legislation Friday that would have killed funding for a state effort to bolster the life sciences industry in Washington.
It was a surprise save for the Life Sciences Discovery Fund (LSDF), which has seen most of its funding siphoned away by the Legislature in recent years. The budget passed last spring had appropriated about $19 million for the current biennium.
Inslee’s veto means the LSDF will actually see that money.
