The Bullitt Foundation’s long-awaited Bullitt Center opened its doors today.
The six-story, 52,000 square-foot building on Seattle's Capitol Hill was designed to meet the most rigorous environmental standards, including the use of net-zero energy.
The building will generate energy from rooftop solar panels covering 14,303 square feet. It also will harvest rainwater for many uses in a 56,000-gallon cistern in the basement, and waste will be composted on-site.
