Some health plans purchased through Washington state's exchange will still require patients who need organ transplants to wait 90 days after their insurance kicks in before they can start the process of finding a new organ.
That waiting period could mean the difference between life and death, said Susanna Nazarian, assistant professor of transplant surgery at the University of Washington, in an interview with The Washington Post.
