The headquarters of an international immunology research network is moving to Seattle and receiving $27 million annually for seven years as it pursues new therapies for the many diseases of the immune system.
The Immune Tolerance Network will now be headquartered at the Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason. Immunology covers a broad swath of diseases in which the body’s immune system works against itself, for example, in psoriasis, multiple sclerosis, lupus and type 1 diabetes.
