Marijuana activist and defense attorney Jeffrey Steinborn had his choice of more than 100 applicants for a new associate position at his law firm back in 1995.
He plucked Alison Holcomb from the bunch and gave her a shot as a defense lawyer focusing on marijuana and DUI arrests, although she had just two years of experience in commercial litigation.
