Nearly 180,000 people have enrolled for Medicaid or health insurance through Washington’s health exchange, but only a small minority is purchasing full-price plans, according to data released Thursday.
The vast majority of enrollees – 159,000 – have signed up for Medicaid, while nearly 16,000 are getting subsidies to help pay for their private insurance premiums. A remaining 4,219 have purchased coverage at full cost.
