One full year after Washington voters approved gay marriage, the numbers show same-sex couples accounted for about 17 percent of the weddings in the first 10 months their marriages were legal in the state, according to the state Department of Health (DOH).
Approval of gay marriage has also made Washington a draw for people from other states — 24 percent of the same-sex couples married here have traveled from another state.
