It was easier to explain to the kids.
“Miss Aubrei, why are you bald?” they would ask.
“My medicine — remember?” she would remind them.
“Oh, yeah!”
And that was it.
But when Aubrei McGinn talked with her colleagues at a Bellevue preschool, the questions about her breast cancer were always a little tougher — and the answers were never quite as clear.
