The decision is final: Hospitals must pay nurses overtime when they don’t get breaks during their shifts, according to the Washington State Supreme Court.
The April 2 decision was a reaffirmation of the court’s unanimous decision in October, and it ends a lawsuit that the Washington State Nurses Association (WSNA) filed in 2007 against Sacred Heart Medical Center, a Providence Health & Services hospital in Spokane.
