In what one board member described as a “political statement,” the board of the Washington health exchange decided to delay certifying health plans for the online insurance marketplace for another week.
The Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC) has approved four companies (for a total of 31 plans) to operate in the exchange, and none of them were Medicaid plans. The board was dissatisfied with those options and put off the vote last week.
